KW PILATES and COVID-19

Queen street yoga just sent out a newsletter to all their participants regarding Studio practices and COVID-19.

I am sending relevant parts of that newsletter to our KW Pilates participants so you are aware that QSY and KW Pilates are doing all we can to limit the spread of COVID-19 within the studio space.

Dear QSY Community,

We are taking proactive steps to keep our space as safe as possible and protect our staff and students against the spread of COVID-19.

Below, please inform yourself about the different measures we are taking, what you can to do help, and how you can continue to have a supportive Yoga /Pilates practice throughout this challenging time.

In-Studio measures WE are taking:

    •    We are disinfecting yoga blocks, hand railings, doorknobs, and commonly-touched surfaces after each class.

    •    We are also reducing the use of props in our classes. Please bring your own mat. You are welcome to bring your own towel/ blanket, a strap/scarf/bathroom belt, to make your practice more comfy. Please bring your own water bottle.

    •    We are stopping hands-on adjustments for the time being, and we encourage everyone not to shake hands.

    •    We are limiting the number of students per class to allow for more space between mats.

    •    We aim to keep our practice rooms as scent-free as possible, however in the rest of the studio we will prioritize sanitation over scent-free, because our supply of scent-free sanitation products is limited.

We are leaving the door to our Gender Neutral Washroom open for door-contact-free access to the sink. If you require a Gender Neutral Changeroom, you are welcome to use our Staff Room and bring your items with you to store in a cubby in the practice room.

What YOU can do to help:

Please remain at home if you are sick and do an AT-HOME practice to help you de-stress and practice self-care. There are resources below for home practice.

Wash your hands upon arrival at QSY, and again before leaving. Sneeze and cough into your elbow and wash your hands after blowing your nose or touching your face (even if it means taking a moment to step out of the room during practice). 20 seconds of hand-washing is superior to hand sanitizer for removing COVID-19.

    •    Participate in sanitizing procedures for any props that you use during your class. Directions and leadership on this will be provided at the end of class.

Resources for your home practice:

I have 2, 30-minute videos, filmed by Andrew Heubner, that I included below.  If you can not make it to QSY studio or Stephen's home studio then you can use these videos in your own home.
